7B Page 32 Attachment I STANDARDS F�R OUTD44R FAIRS AND SOOTHS These standards apply ta individual tents, temporary structures, or membrane structures less than 2an square feet in area, and canopies less than 4�0 square feet in area used as outdoor fairs and booths. Pecmits and approval shall be in accardance with requirements of the Fire Department. A.Definitions For the purposes of this document, the following definitions shall apply: Cooking Booth - A booth where food is prepared by a heating or cooking process such as, but not limited to, grifling, frying, barbecuing, flaming, deep fa# frying, baking, warming, or boiling. Deep Faf Frying - Any cooking operation or process whereby the �roduct floats or is submerged in hot oil during the cooking process. Vendor Baofh -Any booth o�her than a cooking booth. B. Cooking Booth Construction and Location 1. All fabrics and membranes covering cooking booths shall be certified flame retardant or treated with a fire-retardant paint or spray. 2. Decorative materials shall be inherently f re resistive or shafl be treated with a fire-retardant paint or spray. 3. �looring materials used within cooking booths and cooking equipment shall be non-combustible or fire-retardant. (Exception: 3/8"plywoorl or s�m!!ar material.} 4. Each covking booth shal� have at least one exit, a minimum of three �3} feet wide and 6'8" high. Booth frames shall not obstruct exit paths. 5. Cooking booths shail ha�e a minimum clearance of ten (10} feet on at least finro sides with clearance of at least ten (1�}feet from any vendor booth. 6. A min�mum ten (1 a} foot separation shall be provided between e�ery ten connected cooking booths. No�e: For ifems 1, 2, and 3, a flame �esf may be required fvr non-certi�ed flame re�ardanf or treafed materia�s. A fle�c� flame fest shall require a sample of materra!measurrng 2 inches by �2 rnches.
