Agency economic development programs, continued investment in public <br /> improvements, housing ini#iatives and the re-approval and impiementation o#the <br /> Downtown Precise Plan will contribute in their aggregate effect to promote an improved <br /> investment climate. � <br /> e. Promote redevelopmenf in accordance with fhe new flowntown Precise Plan and the <br /> tVew Genera!Plan. These documents presen#a vision for the Project Area and its <br /> reEationship to the rest of the City.The Down#own Precise Plan is being refined and a <br /> new environmental document prepared in response to legal challenge. City and Agency <br /> actions will be guided by the Goals and Principles described in Book l. The development <br /> standards and design criteria outlined in Book II will help achieve the�ision. Actions and <br /> investments described in Book IIl that are not already completed will be undertaken as <br /> opportunities and resources permit. The New Generai Plan provides a guide for priorities <br /> and opportunities that may arise in the Project Area, but also outside of the D�wn#own, <br /> such as the Marina area, Seaport area (including the Port of Redwood City), lower <br /> Broadway, or the South Main St. area. <br /> f. Enhanee viability of transit and fhe Cal#rain S�atron. The Caltrain station is an <br /> underutiiized Projec#Area resource. The addition of fasfer"Baby Bullet"service and the <br /> initia#ion af the process re�ated to high-speed rail have made it an even more valuable <br /> asset. To take ful! advantage of these opportunities, and to pratec�and suppo�t the <br /> vision described in the Downtown Precise Plan, the Agency wili stay actively invol�ed in <br /> the high-speed rail process and#he support o#in#egrated tra�si#-oriented development <br /> and improved pedestrian linkages and connectivity between EI Camino Real, fhe <br /> residential neighborhoods to the West, and the Downtown. <br /> Keyser Marston Associates,tnc.
