City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org
Figure 1: Project Location and Vicinity Map
The City’s Seaport Boulevard Path project meets the fourth goal of the Measure W RTC Cycle 1 Program.
The Redwood City Ferry Terminal project is in the environmental phase and is planned for construction in
2027 which aligns with the schedule for the proposed path project.
Once the ferry terminal is operational and open to the public, the existing multi-use path at the project
alignment will need infrastructure improvements to accommodate non-automobile trips to the future
ferry terminal. The proposed improvements include widened paths, enhanced lighting, improved
pavement, and safe crossings and connections to the north side of Seaport Boulevard at multiple
intersections. These improvements will seamlessly connect the ferry terminal to the new State Route
84/U.S. Highway 101 interchange multi-use path and to the existing and planned bikeways on Veterans
Boulevard, Broadway, Blomquist Street, East Bayshore Road, and other surrounding roadways.
Staff requests that the City Council authorize the attached resolution and City Manager authorization for
the Seaport Boulevard Path grant documents. The grant request of $3.6 million will fund preliminary
engineering, environmental studies, final engineering design, and project management time over the next
three years. The grant application was submitted electronically on the due date of May 30, 2025.
6.B. - Page 3 of 7
66
