In-Person Events <br />In the Summer and Fall of 2023, the RCIA <br />celebrated the return of several downtown <br />Redwood City in-person events to Courthouse <br />Square including Movies on the Square, <br />Music on the Square, ART on the Square, Kids <br />Rock, Oktoberfest, and Día de Los Muertos. <br />Additionally, the Zoppe International Circus <br />returned to Redwood City making its home <br />next to the Middlefield Library marking its 16th <br />consecutive annual visit. These events were <br />promoted through the RCIA’s social media, <br />newsletters and direct media outreach and <br />brought much joy to the community. <br />Flower Planters <br />Landscaping and beautification efforts greatly <br />contribute to the appeal of downtown Redwood <br />City. To support ongoing beautification efforts, <br />the RCIA invested $5K towards the purchase of <br />materials and plants to build 4 wooden planter <br />boxes for Downtown Redwood City. These <br />planters, designed to fit over the orange safety <br />barricades, were placed all throughout downtown <br />and aid in the creation of colorful and welcoming <br />community spaces. <br />2023 ANNUAL REPORT • PAGE 7 <br />6.D. - Page 12 of 21 <br />91
