The Sounds of Redwood City -
Piano Design Project
In an effort to bring more foot traffic and
community gathering opportunities to Downtown
Redwood City, the RCIA launched their quarterly
experiential and media campaign titled “Sights,
Sounds & Tastes of Redwood City”. To play into
the ‘Sounds of Redwood City,’ the RCIA hosted
an RFQ process, and two artists were chosen to
complete the full coverage design of two baby
grand pianos purchased by the RCIA. The artists
were carefully selected based on the quality,
creativity and uniqueness of their work and style,
and how well they were able to connect and
speak to the community through their design
concepts. The pianos are set to be unveiled in the
Summer of 2024.
Commitment to a Clean Downtown
RCIA’s mission is to elevate the downtown
neighborhood, creating a more appealing
environment for people of all ages to reside, work
and enjoy recreational activities.
In order to support ongoing beautification
efforts, and uphold the cleanliness of Downtown
Redwood City, the RCIA held an extensive RFP
process for Maintenance/Landscaping/Steam
Cleaning services. After review of the proposals
received, RCIA extended their partnership with
J & A Maintenance as they continued to provide
excellent service and customer support.
The J & A Maintenance team can be seen
downtown every day, watering the new planters,
street sweeping, power washing, emptying of
garbage and recycle containers, and much more.
PAGE 8 • 2023 ANNUAL REPORT
HIGHLIGHTS CONTINUED
6.D. - Page 13 of 21
92
