<br />Lower Lateral Replacement Project 2025 Form EX A - SCOPE OF WORK

<br />preconstruction survey and layout by a professional licensed surveyor,
<br />restoration of existing landscape and damaged structures, removal and
<br />replacement of existing curb and gutter, valley gutter, sidewalk, pavement
<br />markers, detector loops, traffic lines, speed bumps, and tree/plant protection. All
<br />pavement markings shall be fully replaced with thermoplastic legend (instead of
<br />replacing with T and O in stop, replace STOP). All soil and pipe sampling.
<br />Compliance with all current and future San Mateo County Health Orders is
<br />included with this bid item.
<br />D. Full compensation for performing preconstruction survey and pipe layout by a
<br />professional surveyor and other incidentals. This work shall include, but is not
<br />necessarily limited to, staking and lay outing, layout verification and necessary
<br />adjustments as it relates to existing field conditions, verification and location of
<br />existing utilities in a horizontal and vertical plan, other detailed layout work, and
<br />all other incidentals and associated work required.
<br />E. Full compensation for complying with the City's Storm Water Pollution Prevention
<br />Program, Section 02 1330., shall be included as a lump sum price paid for
<br />mobilization, demobilization traffic control, construction layout, notification,
<br />NPDES and other incidentals.
<br />F. Payment will be determined by percentage complete in the project (e.g., 10% of
<br />the work is completed, 10% of mobilization, traffic control, notification, and other
<br />incidentals will be paid.)
<br />G. Payment for this item will be made at the contract lump sum price and will be
<br />limited to no more than 5% of the Total Base Bid excluding mobilization (Items 1
<br />through 17).
<br />H. Contractor is responsible for obtaining all applicable permits from the County of
<br />San Mateo.
<br />
<br />2. Bid Item No. 2 - Sheeting, shoring and bracing for all trenching and excavation work in
<br />accordance with CA Labor Code Section 6707
<br />A. Contractor shall furnish, install, and remove all trench sheeting, shoring, and
<br />bracing for all trenching and excavation work as required by Section 6707 of the
<br />California Labor Code, as specified in Section 02202, and as required for
<br />construction.
<br />B. Trench sheeting, shoring, and bracing shall be furnished for all pipes and all
<br />other underground associated with this project.
<br />C. Payment for furnishing, installing, and removing trench sheeting, shoring and
<br />bracing shall be made at the contract lump sum price for sheeting, shoring, and
<br />bracing for all trenching work in accordance with California Labor Code Section
<br />6707, complete in place.
<br />D. No additional compensation shall be made for any additional sheeting, shoring,
<br />bracing, trenching and excavation work for site conditions observable in-field and
<br />called out on project plans including, but not limited to, backfill composed of
<br />sandy soils and paving consisting of concrete.
<br />E. Progress payments for this item will be determined by the footage of mainline
<br />completed in place (e.g., 10% of the footage sum of items 3, 4 etc. is completed,
<br />10% of sheeting, shoring and bracing will be paid). Similarly, a credit back to the
<br />City shall be determined by the amount of pipe not installed/deducted from the
<br />original bid quantities.

<br />3. Bid Item No. 3 - Replace 4-inch Diameter Sanitary Sewer Lateral to Sanitary Sewer Main
<br />A. Full compensation for lower lateral replacement at 1338 Edgewood Road shall
<br />include all work to replace the lower lateral from the back of driveway apron to
<br />the sanitary sewer main, including the saddle. This amounts to approximately 28
<br />linear feet of pipe, or 22 linear feet of trench. The lateral will be replaced with a
<br />new 4-inch diameter PVC SDR 26 pipe with 2% minimum slope. A fabricated
