Sewer System Management Plan licensed for Redwood City use only Page 19 of 59 <br />• Utilities Field Supervisor (DS) – The role of the Utilities Field Supervisor is to oversee field operations <br />and maintenance activities for both the sanitary sewer collection and stormwater conveyance <br />systems, spill response and resolution, and to report spills electronically via the CIWQS system. <br />• Utilities Specialist (DS) – The Utilities Specialist is a senior resource in the division and may be <br />delegated duties to support the Utilities Field Supervisor with directing sewer spill response activities, <br />surface water sample collection, cleanup activities, and finalizing documentation and reporting from <br />the field crews. The Utilities Specialist is responsible for maintenance and operation of the City’s sewer <br />lift and pump stations, and stormwater pump stations. <br />• Field Crew(s) – The role of the field crew is to perform system preventive maintenance, repair, and <br />emergency response, including responses to stoppages and spills. <br />• Silicon Valley Clean Water (SVCW) - A regional wastewater treatment agency that treats the City’s <br />wastewater before discharging the clean water into San Francisco Bay. SVCW is a Joint Powers <br />Authority comprised of the cities of Belmont, Redwood City, and San Carlos, and West Bay Sanitary <br />District. <br />• SVCW Source Control Inspectors – The City has implemented a program in which the SVCW Source <br />Control Unit conducts inspections of grease traps and grease interceptors at commercial <br />establishments in the city.
