Attachment B <br />Upward Scholars Safety Net Fund for Redwood City Residents: <br />Upward Scholars supports immigrant residents to move up the economic ladder through <br />education and career development support – offering academic, financial, holistic and career <br />development programs. The Safety Net Fund, created during the pandemic and sustained with <br />the support of generous donors, provides students with help with rent, utilities, food, childcare, <br />and medical expenses so that they can continue to focus on their educational goals. <br />Funding Requested $15,000. <br />Recommended Funding $10,000. <br />BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF LIFEMOVES FUNDING REQUEST FOR REDWOOD FAMILY <br />HOUSE FOR FY 2024-2025 <br />LifeMoves – Redwood Family House. LifeMoves Redwood Family House is an <br />interim family shelter that offers a broad range of on-site basic and supportive services that <br />include food, clothing, life-skills workshops, employment and housing search assistance, <br />mandatory savings program, personal finance and budgeting assistance, health care referrals, <br />behavioral health care counseling, and substance abuse support. “Housing First” principles <br />underpin all LifeMoves programs, seeking to return all clients to stable housing and long-term <br />self-sufficiency as quickly as possible. <br />Funding Requested $34,800. <br />Approved Funding $34,800. <br />9.C. - Page 12 of 27 <br />465
