1 <br />PROPOSED AMENDED JOB DESCRIPTION <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />REVENUE SERVICES MANAGER <br />DEFINITION <br />Under general direction, plans, organizes, oversees, coordinates, and reviews the <br />work of staff performing technical and administrative support related to revenue <br />collection activities including tax administration, business license and other license <br />and permit fees, and utility billing; ensures compliance with regulatory, ordinance, and <br />code requirements related to revenue services and collection; administers current and <br />long-term planning activities; manages the effective use of department resources to <br />improve organizational productivity and customer service; provides highly complex <br />and responsible support to the Assistant City Manager of Administrative Services <br />Finance Director in areas of expertise; and performs related work as required. <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br />This is a division manager classification that manages all activities of the Revenue <br />Services Division of the Administrative Services Finance Department. The incumbent <br />organizes and oversees day-to-day revenue collection activities including tax <br />administration, license and permit fees, and utility billing. Responsibilities include <br />performing diverse, specialized, and complex work involving significant accountability <br />and decision-making responsibility. The incumbent organizes and oversees day -to- <br />day activities and is responsible for providing professional-level support to the <br />Assistant City Manager of Administrative Services Finance Director in areas of <br />expertise. Successful performance of the work requires an extensive professional <br />background as well as skill in coordinating departmental work. This class is <br />distinguished from the Assistant City Manager Finance Director in that the latter has <br />overall responsibility for all functions of the Administrative Services Finance <br />Department and for developing, implementing, and interpreting public policy. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br />Receives general direction from the Assistant City Manager of Administrative <br />ServicesFinance Director.
