Page 3 of 6 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />Land Surveyor Professional Services <br />Providing land surveying services such as preparing American Land Title Association (ALTA) <br />surveys, plat/legal surveys for easements, and technical reviews of maps. <br />Responding to City staff on surveying related questions. <br />Preparing base maps and performing topographic surveys. <br />Reviewing submittals for topographic base maps, survey maps, and cut sheets. <br />Examples of upcoming projects that require geotechnical and/or surveying services include, but are not <br />limited to: <br />Creek wall rehabilitation <br />Development Review <br />Groundwater and recycled water development <br />Pavement projects <br />Sanitary sewer or storm drain pump station replacement projects <br />Water and sanitary sewer main replacement projects <br />On-call contracts enable staff to efficiently engage consultant support by issuing task orders for individual <br />projects under pre-established contract terms and pricing. This approach expedites contract execution <br />while maintaining a competitive selection process. <br />ANALYSIS <br />In anticipation of a high volume of complex projects requiring geotechnical services, E&T issued a Request <br />for Proposals (RFP) for on-call Geotechnical Investigation, Special Inspections, and Material Testing in April <br />2025. Five firms expressed interest by submitting a letter of intent. The following eight firms submitted <br />proposals: Apex Testing Laboratories, Inc.; BSK Associates; Construction Testing Services, Inc.; ENGEO <br />Incorporated; Geocon Consultants, Inc.; Geo-Engineering Solutions, Inc.; Ninyo & Moore Geotechnical & <br />Environmental Sciences Consultants; and Smith-Emery of San Francisco, Inc. <br />Concurrently, E&T issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for on-call Land Surveyor Professional Services. <br />Eight firms submitted a letter of intent. The following five firms submitted proposals: Alexander & <br />Associates, Inc.; BKF Engineers; Kier & Wright Civil Engineers and Surveyors, Inc.; NorthStar Survey, LLC; <br />and Sandis Civil Engineers Surveyors Planners. <br />All 13 proposals were received, thoroughly reviewed, and ranked following the criteria specified within <br />the RFP: <br />Diligence and understanding of the tasks to be completed <br />Expertise and experience in performing the services illustrated in the scope of services <br />Availability and staffing to complete the work within the specified timeline <br />Responsiveness to requirements of the proposed services <br />7.C. - Page 3 of 110 <br />38
