13. Which of the following communication devices do you use regularly?
Key Findings
The cellular phone is by far the most used device, with 93% of respondents (193 people)
reporting regular usage.
The next most popular devices are a laptop computer (41% or 85 people) and a tablet (39%
or 82 people).
Desktop computers are used by less than a third of the respondents (32%), while the
traditional landline telephone is used by just over a quarter (27%).
Conclusion
The survey results highlight a strong preference for mobile technology among the respondents. For
communication and outreach purposes, a strategy that prioritizes cellular phone compatibility—such
as text messaging, mobile websites, and apps—would be most effective. Landline phones and
traditional computers are used by a significant but smaller portion of the group.
Demographic Summary
Housing and Living Situation
The vast majority of respondents (72%) live in a private home, while 14% live in an
apartment or condo.
Most respondents (53%) live with family, 43% live alone, and 4% live with others who are
not family.
No respondents reported being unhoused or living in a memory care facility.
Health and Work Status
A combined 85% of respondents rated their health as good, very good, or excellent.
Only a small minority (15%) rated their health as fair or poor.
An overwhelming 85% of respondents are retired. Just a small portion of the population is
currently working, with 2% working full-time and 7% working part-time.
Marital Status and Household Income
The largest group (47%) of respondents are married or living with a partner, while a
significant portion (27%) are widowed.
8.B. - Page 18 of 48
75
