REV: 09-03-25 LF o Prepare the topographic base map for the project. All surface features (e.g. drain inlets, trees, water valves, roadway, sidewalk, curb and gutter, fence, drainage channel, etc.) will be surveyed. Utility information and base mapping approximately 20 feet beyond the limits of the project will be included as needed for the design of the project. The survey will include channel bottom and top of wall elevations at locations of both existing and proposed storm drain outfall. o The consultant in coordination with the City, will establish project alignment stationing and survey control points. The field survey will include flow line invert elevations and pipe diameter of storm drain facilities within the Project limits. The consultant will provide a Control Plan sheet that will be included in the Design Drawings. o Assumptions and exclusions: The consultant assumes that the project is within the City’s property and easement limits. Review and investigation of entitlements, easements, recorded maps, title reports, and encumbrances is excluded from the scope of services. If existing utilities are in question after the field survey, the consultant may request approval from the City to contract a potholing company to confirm the location and depth of utilities. This service is not included in the scope of work. A written approval from the City is needed to move forward with any service out of the scope of work of this contract. Geotechnical: Haley & Aldrich Inc., sub-consultant to Wood Rodgers, Inc., will provide geotechnical engineering services to support design of the channel rehabilitation improvements for the 1180 Main Street location along Redwood Creek. Assumptions: the need for additional geotechnical assessment of the project will be based on observations of the channel during initial site visits. It is anticipated based on cursory review of available historical geotechnical reports and aerial imagery that additional subsurface exploration will not be necessary, and that existing data can be leveraged to provide project-specific geotechnical recommendations. As a result, sub-consultant (Haley & Aldrich Inc.) will perform the following within the scope of services: o Complete a site visit (1 day) to perform field measurements and visual observation of existing conditions. o Prepare a geotechnical memorandum summarizing geotechnical recommendations based on the site visit and subconsultant’s review and evaluation of the data included in the Langan report titled “Geotechnical Investigation, 1180 Main Street, Redwood City, California”, dated March 27, 2019. The memorandum will include the following: Introduction including site location, description, and a brief background description. Site geology and interpreted subsurface conditions based on existing boring and Core Penetration Test (CPT) data.
