Seaport Centre Levee System Operation and Maintenance Manual <br />December 2022 <br />• Check pipe interior <br />• Periodic video inspection of pipe joints and lining for buckling, spa Ili ng, corrosion, <br />damage, or separation <br />• Remove sediment in pipes <br />Replace damaged or degraded pipes <br />2.4.3 Removal of sediment and vegetation at outfalls <br />• Cut and remove vegetation that could affect discharge <br />• Remove sediment that could affect backflow valves or discharge <br />2.4.4 Repair and maintenance of outfall slope protection <br />• Remove any woody vegetation (brush or trees) in riprap <br />• Repair or replace riprap slope protection <br />• Repair foundation or apron of outfalls to prevent undermining, scour, and/or slope failures <br />2.4,5 Positive Closure Valve <br />• Positive closure valves shall be testedto ensure proper sealing <br />• Positive closure valves that do not seal properly shall be repaired or replaced toensure <br />protection from flooding backflow <br />2.5 Miscellaneous Maintenance Activities <br />Maintenance on the following project elements is required to provide security in areas where access <br />is not intended, and to ensure access at the proper locations for maintenance staff as needed, and to <br />the general public for recreational use. Encroachments into the levee easement must be maintained <br />when authorized, and removed when not authorized. <br />2.5.1 Miscellaneous Repairs and Maintenance <br />• Repair fence sections and replaced damaged gates <br />• Replace and install public signage as necessary <br />• Paint defaced structures <br />2.5.2 Remove unauthorized encroachments in levee easement (stdirs, landscaping, <br />utilities, fences, irrigation, etc) <br />• Coordinate removal of unauthorized private encroachments with local jurisdictions (parks, <br />police, public works, building departments) <br />• Notify adjacent property owners to remove unauthorized encroachments if they are the <br />responsible party <br />• Provide neighborhood notice if work is necessary to remove encroachments <br />2025.276 - SEAPORT PURCHASE AGREEMENT Fill <br />REV; 10-15-25 VR Page 5 of 7 BKF ENGINEERS <br />
