In order to proceed, 84/101
Reimagined requires acquisition of certain lands from a number of properties, including a portion of the
City’s corporation yard. The cost of these acquisitions will be funded from multiple sources, including a
California State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) grant, U.S Department of Transportation
(U.S. DOT) Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) grant, and San Mateo County Transportation
Authority (SMCTA) Measure A grant.
As a result of the necessary right-of-way acquisition, the existing corporation yard infrastructure within
the acquisition area needs to be reconfigured. The corporation yard is critical to City operations, housing
essential services such as maintenance, storage, and vehicle operations. Adjustments required to
accommodate 84/101 Reimagined include modification and relocation of existing fuel tanks, parking
structures, fences, and various utilities, notably significant modification to PG&E facilities. The proposed
layout will need to support existing site functionality while providing adequate workflow, safety, and
accessibility. Moreover, extensive coordination between stakeholders will be vital both prior to and during
construction and must necessarily be addressed as part of the design.
Figure 1: Corporation Yard Impact Area (Shown In Red)
Construction of the corporation yard reconfiguration is anticipated to begin in Fall 2026 and completed
before 84/101 Reimagined construction begins. To meet this deadline, staff issued a Request for Proposals
(RFP) for the design work targeting 100% plans in early summer of 2026, to be followed by bidding of the
construction contract in mid- to late-summer 2026.
8.H. - Page 2 of 21
189
