Page 7 of 9 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />Staff anticipate creating a dashboard or regular report on the EMAP strategies and success metrics to <br />track the City’s progress in supporting these desired community outcomes. <br />Aligned Actions  <br />Aligned actions are commitments expressed by the City of Redwood City, nonprofit organizations, <br />foundations, businesses, and/or other government agencies within the Redwood City community that are <br />anticipated to affect the indicators and outcomes.    <br />City Government Aligned Actions: Within the City, work in several departments aligns with the Upward <br />Mobility framework, especially in the areas of opportunity-rich neighborhoods, healthy environment, and <br />just governance. While not formally part of the Redwood City EMAP, these City actions may also have a <br />meaningful impact on the indicators and on economic mobility locally. For example:   <br /> <br />Economic Development Five-Year Plan: Incorporating economic mobility principles to ensure <br />businesses, workers, and residents thrive in Redwood City.   <br />Fair Oaks Community Center: Addressing employment and basic needs access as a County core <br />human services agency.  <br /> <br />Greater Downtown Area Plan: Exploring feasibility of expanding flex zone uses to encourage light <br />manufacturing uses, expanding job types available in Redwood City.  <br />Housing: Addressing housing affordability and stability (which are Upward Mobility indicators) <br />through the team’s daily work on policy and development.   <br />Police Department: Addressing safety from crime and providing just policing (which are Upward <br />Mobility indicators) through the department's daily work.  <br />Walk Bike Thrive: Addressing transportation access (which is an Upward Mobility indicator) by <br />increasing pedestrian and bicycle transit options.  <br />Vision Zero: Addressing safety from trauma (which is an Upward Mobility indicator) by reducing <br />collisions.   <br />Community Partner Aligned Actions: External community partners also lead a range of aligned projects <br />and commitments that may contribute to the proposed desired outcomes. For example:  <br />San Mateo County Shared Prosperity Coordinating Council has developed a shared prosperity plan <br />that includes: <br />o Create a countywide economic mobility dashboard  <br />o Develop pathways for individuals to progress from entry-level positions to higher-paying and <br />more fulfilling jobs  <br />10.D. - Page 7 of 13 <br />843
