[CFC Appendix D§105.1] This building is greater <br />than 30-feet tall, and therefore an aerial (ladder truck) fire access road is required. <br />Width: The aerial fire apparatus access road shall have a minimum unobstructed <br />width of 26-feet, exclusive of shoulders, in the immediate vicinity of the building. [CFC <br />Appendix D§105.2] <br /> Proximity to Building: One or more of the required access routes meeting this <br />condition shall be located not less than 15-feet and not greater than 30-feet from the <br />building and shall be positioned parallel along the longest entire side of the building. <br />[CFC Appendix D§105.3] <br /> Obstructions: Overhead utility and power lines cannot be located over the aerial fire <br />apparatus access road or between the aerial fire apparatus road and the building. [CFC <br />Appendix D§105.4] <br /> Other Obstructions: Any other or fixed obstruction located on the entire length of the <br />designated aerial fire apparatus access road shall not interfere with the operation of <br />an aerial ladder placed at a maximum climbing angle of 75° from the turntable plane <br />to the fullest extent of the aerial ladder effective reach. [FIRE] <br /> <br />69. Fire Flow - Based on the information provided, the minimum required fire flow for manual <br />suppression for this project is not less than 2,125 gallons per minute at 20 psi residual <br />pressure for a duration of two hours. For buildings equipped with an automatic fire sprinkler <br />system, the water supply shall be capable of providing the greater of the fire sprinkler <br />system demand with hose stream allowances or the required fire flow. [FIRE] [CFC §507.1 <br />and B-§105.3] <br /> <br />70. Fire Hydrant Distribution Piping - All water mains providing a water supply for fire <br />protection, both to fire hydrants and to fire service systems, must be not less than eight <br />inches (8”) in diameter (inside measurement). [FIRE] [CFC §507.1.1 as amended by the City <br />of Redwood City Code of Ordinances §12.16] <br /> <br />71. Fire Hydrants - The fire hydrant system for this project must comply with Sections 507.5.1 <br />through 507.5.6 and Appendix C of the CFC. Fire hydrant locations are to be installed along <br />the fire apparatus access road and located such that no portion of the facility is more than <br />400-feet from the fire hydrant on the fire apparatus access road. [FIRE] [CFC §507.5.1] <br /> <br />72. Fire Hydrants Near Fire Department Connections - Buildings equipped with a standpipe <br />system installed in accordance with CFC § 905 or a fire sprinkler system complying with CFC <br />§ 903.3.1.1 shall have a fire hydrant within 50-feet of the fire department connections <br />located on the same side of the roadway. [FIRE] [CFC §507.5.1 as amended by the City] <br /> <br />73. Secondary Water Supply - An automatic secondary on-site water supply having a usable <br />capacity not less than the hydraulically calculated fire sprinkler demand, including the hose <br />stream requirement, shall be provided for high-rise buildings. The secondary water supply <br />shall have a useable capacity of not less than the hydraulically calculated sprinkler demand
