Smoke Control System - All portions of the high-rise building shall be provided with a smoke <br />control system in accordance with CBC Section 909. [FIRE] [CFC §914.3.8.1] <br /> <br />75. Smokeproof Enclosures - Every exit enclosure in a high-rise building must comply with CBC <br />Sections 909.20 and 1023.11. [FIRE] [CBC §403.5.4 and CFC §914.3.8.2] <br /> <br />76. Class I Standpipes - Class I standpipe systems are required to be installed throughout <br />buildings where the floor level of the highest story is located more than 30-feet above the <br />lowest level of the fire department vehicle access. [FIRE] [CFC §905.3.1] <br /> <br />77. Class I Standpipe - Rooftop Gardens and Landscaped Roofs -Buildings or structures that <br />have rooftop gardens or landscaped roofs and that are equipped with a standpipe system <br />shall have the standpipe system extended to the roof level on which the rooftop garden or <br />landscaped roof is located. [FIRE] [CFC §905.3.8] <br /> <br />78. Fire Pump - Emergency Power Source - Electrically driven fire pumps must be provided with <br />an alternate power source in accordance with NFPA 20, Fire Pumps, due to foreseeable <br />extended electrical service interruptions along the California Power Grid. [FIRE] [CFC <br />§913.2.3 and Redwood City Code of Ordinances §12.19] <br /> <br />79. Standby and Emergency Power-A standby power system complying with CBC Section 2702 <br />for emergency power systems and standby power systems, and CBC Section 3003 for <br />standby power for emergency elevator operations, must be provided for the standby power <br />loads specified in CBC Section 403.4.8.3. [FIRE] [CBC §403.4.8] <br /> <br />80. Generator - Standby and Emergency Power – Equipment Room - When a generator is set <br />inside the building for the standby or emergency power systems, the generator shall be <br />located in a separate room enclosed with 2-hour fire barriers. [CBC §403.4.8.1] System <br />supervision with manual start and transfer features must also be provided at the fire <br />command center. [FIRE] <br /> <br />81. Public Safety Key Boxes - Public safety key boxes shall be installed adjacent to each <br />entrance within 60 to 72 inches of the finished walking surface. [CFC §506] The Applicant <br />shall have the key box locations shown on the building permit plans. [FIRE] <br /> <br />82. Public Address System - In buildings four (4) or more stories in height, a public address <br />system shall be installed for the exclusive use of Fire Department personnel, peace officers, <br />or other City enforcement personnel according to specifications approved by the Redwood <br />City Fire Prevention Bureau. The controls for, and access to, such system must be installed
