City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org
Curb-side management and prioritization of street right-of-way use to accommodate multiple
functions (e.g. bike and transit facilities, green infrastructure, loading and delivery, passenger
drop-off).
Climate Resilience – Existing and emerging climate risks such as sea level rise, storm- and ground water-
related flooding, and the urban heat island effect need to be considered and mitigated through water
management infrastructure and green design interventions. Policy, operational, and physical tools can be
applied in specific locations and across infrastructure systems (e.g. streets, waterways such as Redwood
Creek, buildings, utilities, public and private land) to help protect residents, businesses, and critical
community assets. The Climate Resilience Framework shown in Figure 6 begins to identify areas in the
Plan Area for prioritization related to flood risk (with darker shades of blue signifying higher priority and/or
need for more intensive mitigation strategies). The City’s Engineering & Transportation Department will
soon begin an update to the City’s Stormwater Master Plan and location-specific climate resilience
strategies will be developed for the GDAP in the months ahead in close coordination with that effort.
Figure 6 – GDAP Vision Framework: Climate Resilience
12.A. - Page 9 of 69
228
