To review a summary of the input received <br />during the focus groups click here. <br />Youth & Families – Attended by 13 individuals representing 6 community-based <br />organizations serving children, teens, and families in Redwood City. Participants <br />included early childhood educators, youth mentors, childcare providers, and <br />members of advisory boards that engage directly with teens and transition-aged <br />youth. (March 18, 2025) <br />Seniors and People with Disabilities – Attended by 8 individuals representing 7 <br />organizations serving seniors and people with disabilities in Redwood City and <br />San Mateo County. (March 19, 2025) <br />Spanish Speaking Community – Attended by 8 individuals representing 3 <br />organizations serving the Spanish speaking community in Redwood City and San <br />Mateo County. The meeting was held in Spanish with English translation. (March <br />19, 2025) <br />o Small Business Owners – Hosted in coordination with the Downtown Business Group, 16 <br />individuals participated in the focus group session representing a diverse mix of <br />Downtown businesses and organizations across industries including food and beverage, <br />retail, services, professional offices, and non-profit arts. (July 22, 2025) <br />o Neighborhood Associations – Hosted in coordination with the Centennial, Stambaugh- <br />Heller, and Downtown Neighborhood Associations, approximately 16 neighborhood <br />residents participated. (July 31, 2025) <br />2 Community Open Houses <br />o Community Open House #1 on Existing Conditions – The purpose of the open house was <br />to share the project team’s key findings related to existing conditions and learn from <br />community members about their experiences living and working in the Greater <br />Downtown Area. The event was attended by approximately 70 participants. All print <br />materials were provided in English and Spanish and Spanish-speaking members of the <br />project team were present to answer questions for attendees. (April 17, 2025) <br />o Community Open House #2 on the draft Vision Framework – The purpose of the open <br />house was to share the project draft Vision Framework with the general public and <br />receive community input on the concepts presented. The event was attended by <br />approximately 25 participants. All print materials were provided in English and Spanish, a <br />Spanish language interpreter was present, and Spanish-speaking members of the project <br />team were present to answer questions for attendees. (October 11, 2025) <br />10 City Body Meetings/Study Sessions – Members of the project team gave presentations to the <br />following City bodies: <br />o Study session with the City Council to present the Community Engagement Strategy.
