The City <br />Engineer has determined that the improvements outlined by the project plans and specifications are <br />complete. Therefore, staff recommend acceptance of the project, release of all bonds and retention and <br />filing of a Notice of Completion. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, accept the Maple Street Sewer Interceptor 60-Inch Extension Project and authorize the release <br />of performance bonds and retention according to City procedures. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Public Safety <br />BACKGROUND <br />On April 25, 2016, the City Council accepted the Walnut Street and Maple Street Sewer Interceptor <br />Improvement Project, which constructed a new 60-inch sanitary sewer main and two diversion structures <br />to increase capacity and operational flexibility at a critical wastewater conveyance location serving <br />Redwood City, neighboring districts, and part of Woodside. At the Maple Street diversion structure, <br />sanitary flow was routed through an existing 48-inch outlet to the Maple Street pump station, while the <br />60-inch outlet was initially plugged due to sufficient capacity at the time. <br />7.B. - Page 1 of 4 <br />71
