4 <br />PRIORITY # 3: SUSTAIN OR EXPAND HUMAN SERVICES <br />Priority Need Sustain or Expand Human Services <br />Priority Level High <br />Population Extremely Low <br />Low <br />Elderly <br />Frail Elderly <br />Persons with Mental Disabilities <br />Persons with Physical Disabilities <br />Victims of Domestic Violence <br />Geographic <br />Areas <br />Citywide and low-income census tracts <br />Associated Goals Basic Human Needs Services (Support programs that provide basic human needs <br />services) <br />Description Post the COVID-19 pandemic, persons with low to moderate income continue to <br />struggle to meet the basic needs of their household. This priority is to sustain or expand <br />the high level of basic human needs services for extremely low-, very low-, low- and <br />moderate-income persons and households including but not limited to childcare, <br />mental health and substance abuse services. <br />Basis for Priority Basic human needs services were identified as a high priority in the needs assessment <br />and through citizen participation. <br />PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES <br />Domestic Violence Legal Services: Bay Area Legal Aid, 1048 El Camino Real, Suite A, Redwood City. These funds <br />will be used to support legal services for victims of domestic violence. $25,000 – CDBG <br />Sexual Assault Services for Children: Rape Trauma Services, 1860 El Camino Real, Suite 406, Burlingame. These <br />funds will be used to support crisis intervention, counseling groups and sexual assault prevention services for <br />Redwood City youth. $15,000 – CDBG <br />TOTAL HUMAN SERVICES FUNDING RECOMMENDATION - $40,000 <br />8.B. - Page 119 of 123 <br />462
