The City will continue to improve access to <br />persons with disabilities through the implementation of the City’s ADA Transition Plan that <br />includes ADA improvements to public right of ways and public facilities. <br />Basis for Priority Development of new and improvements to existing public facilities was identified as a low <br />priority need in the needs assessment and through community participation. <br />PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES <br />No new public facilities projects identified for PY 2026. <br />TOTAL PUBLIC FACILITIES FUNDING RECOMMENDATION - $0 <br />PRIORITY # 5: SUPPORT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES <br />Priority Need Support Economic Development Opportunities <br />Priority Level High <br />Population Extremely Low <br />Low <br />Moderate <br />Geographic Areas Citywide and low-income census tracts <br />Associated Goals Economic Development <br />Description Provide support for programs and activities that create and preserve job opportunities, <br />as well as reduce barriers to job opportunities for lower income Redwood City residents. <br />Basis for Priority The needs assessment and citizen participation identified job creation, as well as <br />assisting low to moderate income residents with barriers to economic opportunity, such <br />as childcare. <br />PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES <br />Microenterprise Assistance: Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center, 3009 Middlefield Road, Redwood City. <br />These funds will be used to support a training program designed to equip low-income, un- and underemployed <br />residents of Redwood City with the training, tools and resources they need to start, grow or retain their own <br />small businesses, creating jobs for themselves and others. $49,195 – CDBG <br />Boost (Childcare Provider Assistance): Upwards Care, Inc., 1274 Owosso Avenue, Hermosa Beach.
