6.2A
Page 32

Impact REC-le: The Project would physically degrade recreational facilities by removing
or damaging existing recreational facUities directly.

The pipeline would bisect Fleishman Park. Park facilities within the right of way that would be
directly affected by construction would include a play structure, a water play area, paving, a
fence, and grassy areas. All of these facilities would be removed to accommodate pipeline
construction. Although the SFPUC's Standard Construction Measure No. 10 would require its
contractor(s) to restore the ground within the right of way at Fleishman Park to its general pre-
construction condition by repaving, regrading, and reseeding the affected area, the SFPUC does
not intend to replace any recreational structures as part of its Project proposal. Therefore, the
permanent removal of these recreational structures would constitute a significant impact on
recreational facilities at this location.

. Mitigation Measure REC-la: Notify Local Jurisdiction.s and Lease-Holders
. Mitigation Measure REC-l b: Restore Recreational Facilities to Pre-Construction
Condition

Impact REC-lf: The Project would physically degrade recreational facilities by removing
or damaging existing recreational facUities directly.

Pipeline construction would cross most of the main parking lot, the southern (outfield) portion of
a baseball diamond, a footpath leading around the ball field at two points, the petanque area, and
a storage area for the San Mateo County Department of Parks. Although the SPPUC's Standard
Construction Measure No. 10 would require its contractor(s) to restore the ground surface within
the right of way to its general pre-construction condition by regrading, reseeding, and repaving
of affected area, the SFPUC does not intend to replace any recreational structures as part of its
Project proposal. Therefore, the permanent removal of these recreational structures would
constitute a significant impact on recreational facilities at this location.

. With implementation of the SFPUC's Standard Construction
Measure No. 10, site restoration, the SFPUC's contractor(s) would be required to restore the
ground within the right of way (including impacted trails) to their general pre construction
condition.
