<br />7B <br />Page 46 <br /> <br /> <br />Beginning in fiscal year (FY) 2009/ 10, the Air District will be <br />accepting applications to the Regional Fund on an ongoing basis. <br />Calls for applications will be phased in by project type from July <br />through December 2009, as the Air District Board of Directors <br />adopts policies and make funding allocations specific to each <br />project type. Eligible projects will be reviewed and considered <br />on a quarterly basis. <br /> <br />For FY 2009/ 10, an estimated $10 million in total funds are <br />available for distribution via the Regional Fund. Eligible proj- <br />ect types for the Regional Fund will be phased in during FY <br />2009/ 10, as follows: <br /> <br />Beginning July 2009: <br /> <br />)) Shutdes, Vanpools, and Regional rideshare projects (up <br />to $4 million available) <br /> <br />Beginning October 2009: <br /> <br />lifeline Transportation Program <br /> <br />C/CAG administers the Lifeline Transportation Program in San <br />Mateo County. The overall program is administered by the Met- <br />ropolitan Transportation Commission. The Lifeline Transporta- <br />tion Program is intended to fund projects that result in improved <br />mobility for low-income residents of the nine San Francisco Bay <br />Area counties. The Lifeline Program supported community- <br />based transportation projects that: <br /> <br />)) Are developed through a collaborative and inclusive <br />planning process among a variety of stakeholders; <br /> <br />)) Address transportation gaps and/or barriers identified in <br />Community-Based Transportation Plans; <br /> <br />)) Improve a range of transportation choices in low income <br />communities that have been identified as Communities <br />of Concern. In San Mateo County, these include Daly <br />City. East Palo Alto, the Belle Haven area of Menlo Park, <br />the North Fair Oaks area of Redwood City, northern <br />San Mateo, South San Francisco and San Bruno. <br /> <br />)) Alternative-Fuel Vehicle and Infrastructure projects (up <br />to $5 million available) <br /> <br />Beginning mid-December 2009 (tentative) <br /> <br />)) Vehicle-based Advanced Technology Demonstration <br />projects (up to $2 million available) <br /> <br />With the upcoming collaboration with SMCTD and C/CAG and <br />the adoption of the Strategic Plan, there may be several oppor- <br />tunities for applying for a regional TFCA grant to fund specific <br />implementation actions. <br /> <br />As a Joint Power Authority. the Alliance could be an eligible <br />recipient on behalf of a member consider a community of con- <br />cern. However, the Alliance would need to receive sponsorship <br />for any program from SamTrans. <br /> <br />There are three funding sources for the Lifeline Transportation <br />Program: <br /> <br />>> State Transit Assistance <br /> <br />)) Proposition I B <br />)) Job Access Reverse Commute (JARC FTA 5316 monies) <br /> <br />44 <br />
