<br />PERMIT NO. 6-94 <br />(Issued on July 24, 1996, As <br />Amended Through March 4, 2010) <br />AMENDMENT NO. SIX <br />(Exclusive of Amendment No. Four) <br />City of Redwood City and <br />Keech Properties, LLC <br />Page 10 <br /> <br />with space for a minimum of six vehicles with appropriate signage may <br />be installed at Marine and Shearwater Parkways initially; a permanent <br />paved and landscaped public shore parking lot with space for 8-12 <br />, vehicles shall be developed in conjunction with development of this <br />parcel, or by September 30, 2002, whichever is earlier. The number of <br />permanent parking spaces at the corner of Marine and Shearwater <br />Parkways can, with approval by or on behalf of the Commission, be <br />reduced to six spaces if the Commission determines that more than six <br />spaces would be incompatible with the future development of the parcel. <br />Each parking lot shall include at least one handicapped parking space, <br />public access signs, connections to adjoining public access areas and <br />trails, and landscaping. In addition, four roadside parking spaces shall be <br />signed and reserved for public access users adjacent to the observation <br />deck constructed at the end of Canvasback Way (see Exhibit B). <br /> <br />Such improvements shall be consistent with the plans approved pursuant to Special <br />Condition II-A of this authorization. <br /> <br />7. Public Access Signing. By January 1, 1998, the permittees shall develop a public <br />access sign program designed to maximize public recognition, use, and enjoyment of <br />the existing public access and inland access areas, trails, and related improvements <br />required herein throughout the Redwood Shores peninsula. The sign program, to be <br />approved by or on behalf of the Commission pursuant to Special Condition II-A, <br />shall include the following elements: (a) a section of each of the existing marketing <br />orientation signs shall indicate directions to nearby public access parking; (b) a <br />prominent sign shall identify each public parking lot or street parking; (c) a map of <br />the Redwood Shores public access system indicating the location of the parking lot <br />in relation to the public access system shall be installed at each parking lot; (d) at <br />least 25 public access signs, of which at least eight shall be Bay trail signs, shall be <br />placed at parking areas, street intersections, and trail junctions. Directional arrows <br />shall indicate trail routes for pedestrians and bicyclists at those locations where the <br />trail bifurcates; (e) two interpretive signs shall be placed at each of the four <br />observation decks; and (f) temporary signs indicating alternative routes, informing <br />the public of why the path is closed, when the path will be open, and when project <br />construction will be completed shall be installed at all public trail entrances during <br />levee reconstruction. The permittees shall place and maintain in good condition, all <br />of the public access signs approved by or on behalf of the Commission in accordance <br />with Special Condition II-A. <br /> <br />8. Landscaping <br /> <br />a. Exterior Levee. Prior to any levee construction on levee segments I, II, III, VII, <br />and VIII and prior to any planting on and adjacent to levee segments IV, V, and <br />VI (Amendment No. One), the permittees shall submit and receive <br />Commission approval pursuant to Special Condition II-A above, a planting <br />program for the levee, and access and seasonal wetland areas immediately <br />adjacent to the levee, that contains the following elements: (a) replacement with <br />in-kind or better landscaping the approximately 38,000 square feet of existing <br />
