<br />GENERAL EQUIPMENT AND MECHANICAL REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> <br />1.01 SUMMARY <br /> <br />A. Section Includes: The general requirements for all of the Equipment and <br />Mechanical work in the scope of the Project. <br /> <br />1.02 REFERENCES <br /> <br />A. American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA). <br /> <br />B. American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). <br /> <br />C. California Code of Regulations, Title 8 Industrial Relations (CAL/OSHA) <br /> <br />D. Hydraulic Institute (HI). <br /> <br />E. National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). <br /> <br />F. Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA). <br /> <br />1.03 STANDARDS FOR THE WORK <br /> <br />A. Complete Systems: Provide pipe, fittings, wiring, and supports to produce <br />complete, operable systems with all elements properly interconnected. <br /> <br />B. Provide equipment and material new and without imperfections. Erect in a neat and <br />workmanlike manner; aligned, leveled, cleaned, and adjusted for satisfactory <br />operation. Locate oil and lubrication fittings clear of and away from guards, base, <br />and equipment and within reach from the operating floor. Coordinate location of all <br />motor connections in order to properly orient encased electrical conduits. <br /> <br />C. The recommendations and instructions of the manufacturers of products used in the <br />work are hereby made part of these Specifications, except as they may be <br />superseded by other requirements of these Specifications. <br /> <br />1.04 SUBMITTALS <br /> <br />A. Submittals: Submit equipment information as per the respective equipment sections <br />and as per below. <br /> <br />B. Shop Drawings: Submit Shop Drawings to the Owner and receive favorable review <br />prior to fabrication, construction, or delivery to the project site in accordance with <br />Section VERTICAL TURBINE PUMPS of these Specifications. Show sizes and <br />arrangement of equipment, foundations, and anchor bolts required; performance <br />characteristics; pump curves; control diagrams; wiring diagrams; motor data sheets; <br />methods of assembly; and connections to other work.
