<br />visits required due to coordination issues or non-compliance on the part of the <br />Contractor will be the 'responsibility of the Contractor. <br />3. Certifications: The Pump Manufacturer shall submit signed certifications for all <br />five (5) existing suction barrels. The certifications shall contain this specific <br />wording: <br />a. "The existing pump suction barrel with tag number [MP-1, or <br />MP-2, etc.] has been inspected and has been found to be in conformance <br />with our (the pump manufacturer's) tolerances, standards and <br />requirements for full time operation of our pumps." <br /> <br />2.04 VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVES (VFDS) <br /> <br />A. A VFD will be supplied by the Contractor under a separate contract for each <br />pumping unit. <br /> <br />B. The Contractor's VFD is required to be compatible with the pump manufacturer's <br />furnished motors and driven pumping units, and shall be certified as such by both <br />the pump manufacturer and VFD manufacturer: <br />1. The approved shop drawing submittals for the pumping units and motors will be <br />provided to the Contractor for coordination with his selected VFD manufacturer <br />for selection and preparation of a shop drawing submittal for the VFD. <br />2. In turn, the Contractor's VFD submittal package will be reviewed by both the <br />Engineer and the pump manufacturer. The pump manufacturer shall review the <br />submittal for system compatibility between the VFD, motor, and pumping unit <br />and for proper operation to achieve the performance requirements specified for <br />the pumping system as a whole. Provide written comments to the City where <br />modifications are needed to provide compatibility with the pump manufacturers <br />equipment. Provide all subsequent submittal reviews as necessary until the <br />pump manufacturer is satisfied with the VFD selection. <br />3. Certification: The pump manufacturer shall submit a signed certification <br />containing the following specific wording: <br />a. "The Contractor's variable frequency drive (VFD) submittal has been <br />reviewed and the submitted VFD has been found to be compatible with and <br />meets the operational and performance requirements of our (the pump <br />manufacturer's) pumps, motors, and pumping system as a whole (driven <br />motors and loads)". <br />4. Through the Contractor, the VFD manufacturer will be submitting a signed <br />affidavit stating their VFD is compatible with the pump manufacturer's <br />equipment, and acknowledging receipt of a copy of the pump manufacturer's <br />certification. <br /> <br />2.05 SPARE PARTS <br /> <br />A. Provide the following spare parts: <br />1. Two complete sets of bowl and impeller wear rings, both metal and composition <br />elements, for each type of pump bowl. Provide two sets of wear rings for all <br />stages of one pump. <br />2. Provide two complete sets of gaskets for one pump. <br />3. Provide two complete sets of O-ring seals for one pump. <br />4. Provide two shaft sleeves and seals for one pump. <br />5.
