Section 3.67. Expiration of Permit. Each permit granted in accordance with the <br />provisions of this Article shall expire if the work authorized under the permit is not <br />commenced within one (1) year from the date of the issuance thereof. A reasonable <br />time extension may be granted by the Zoning Administrator if written request for <br />approval of an extension is filed with the Zoning Administrator prior to the date that the <br />permit is scheduled to expire. <br /> <br />Section 3.68. Revocation of Permit. Any permit granted under the provisions of this <br />Article may be revoked by the City for failure of the applicant and/or property owner to <br />comply with any conditions of approval or provisions of this Article. The City may <br />initiate revocation proceedings by providing written notice to the applicant and/or <br />property owner of the time, date and place that a public hearing will be held to consider <br />revocation of the permit. Such notice shall be mailed at least ten (10) calendar days <br />prior to the hearing. Within five (5) calendar days following the hearing, the decision of <br />the City shall be mailed to the applicant and/or property owner. In lieu of revoking a <br />permit, the City may modify and/or impose additional conditions of approval. <br /> <br />Section 3.69. Temporary Sign Permit. Unless stated otherwise in this Article; no <br />temporary sign shall be installed except pursuant to a temporary sign permit issued by <br />the City in accordance with the provisions set forth below. <br /> <br /> a. Application Process. Each application for a temporary sign permit shall be <br /> accompanied by a fee in accordance with the City's fee schedule and shall <br /> include the information listed in Section 3.63 of this Article. <br /> <br /> b. Time Limit. Each temporary sign permit shall be issued for a specific period of <br /> time in accordance with the provisions of Division 6 ("Temporary Signs") of this <br /> Article. <br /> <br /> c. Conditions of Approval. Upon issuing a temporary sign permit, the City may <br /> impose such reasonable conditions as are deemed appropriate or necessary to <br /> secure the objectives of this Article. <br /> <br /> DIVISION 3. GENERAL PROVISIONS <br /> <br />Section 3.70. General Application. <br /> <br />Unless stated otherwise in this Article, the provisions set forth in this Division shall apply <br />to all signs. <br /> <br />Section 3.71. Measurement of Sign Area. The area of each sign shall be measured <br />using the smallest geometric form not to exceed six (6) straight sides that encloses the <br />extreme limits of copy together with any colors, graphics or background that are an <br />integral part of the display.
