Section 3.88. Grand Opening Signs. Grand opening signs may be displayed for the <br />grand opening of a new business that has obtained a zoning clearance and a business <br />license from the City; for a change in name, ownership or management of an existing <br />business; and for the reopening of a business that has been closed for at least two (2) <br />weeks due to remodeling. Grand opening signs shall comply with the following <br />requirements: <br /> <br /> a. Number. A ground floor business may display one (1) grand opening sign on <br /> each building facade that provides customer access to the business. <br /> <br /> b. Time Limit. No business shall display grand opening signs for more than a total <br /> of thirty (30) days per calendar year. <br /> <br />Section 3.89. Community Activity Si~lns. Civic, charitable, religious and nonprofit <br />organizations may display temporary signs promoting a nonprofit activity in accordance <br />with the following requirements: <br /> <br /> a. Size. Freestanding signs shall not exceed four (4) square feet in area or three <br /> (3) feet in height above grade. <br /> <br /> b. Number. No more than one (1) sign may be displayed along each lot frontage of <br /> the property where the community activity will be held. Additional signs may be <br /> allowed under the provisions of a temporary sign permit as set forth in Section <br /> 3.69 ("Temporary Sign Permit") of this Article. <br /> <br /> c. Placement. The signs may be displayed off of the premises either on privately <br /> owned property or within the public right-of-way in accordance with the <br /> provisions set forth in Section 3.114 of this Article. <br /> <br /> d. Time Limit. No sign may be displayed more than thirty (30) days prior to <br /> commencement of the community activity. Each sign shall be removed no later <br /> than ten (10) days following completion of the activity. <br /> <br /> DIVISION 7. EXEMPT SIGNS <br /> <br />Section 3.90. General Application. Unless stated otherwise, the provisions of this <br />Article shall not apply to the types and locations of signs set forth below, with the <br />exception of Section 3.114 ("Unauthorized Locations"). The square footage of exempt <br />signs shall not be included as sign area and may be displayed without obtaining a <br />permit from the City, unless a building permit or electrical permit is required. <br /> <br />Section 3.91. Address Signs. Address signs that comply with the provisions of this <br />Article, provided that no numeral exceeds eighteen (18) inches in height. <br /> <br />Section 3.92. Building Marker Signs.
