Provide supporting materials if <br />desired. <br /> <br />The proposed Skyway/Shoreway Bike Route Improvement proiect consists of an unbuilt <br />connection to the Regional Bikeway Network and the Bay Trail. The existing Regional <br />Bikeway plan shows both the Network and the Bay Trail running adiacent to Highway <br />101 and continuing around the southern side of the San Carlos Airport. However. due to <br />ah:Port regulations and restrictions. public trails are not permitted in the area adiacent to <br />the ah:port. The only available connection to the existing (built) Bay Trail is Skyway <br />Road to Redwood Shores Parkway. This section is used daily by cyclists traveling north <br />and south parallel to Highway 101. It runs through San Carlos. Redwood City and <br />continues into Belmont. <br /> <br />C) Does the project have the minimum required match of 11.47%? <br />Yes X No <br /> <br />D) Is the project a pedestrian project? <br />Yes No X_ <br /> <br />Project Description: <br /> <br />The proposed Skyway/Shoreway Bike Route Improvement proiect consists of a proposed <br />unbuilt bike route extending through multiple jurisdictions: it extends from Redwood <br />City to San Carlos and continues into Belmont. The pro; ect on the southern end will <br />connect with the existing Bay Trail bike path at the end of Skyway Road. adjacent to <br />Highway 101. From Skyway Road the route turns left onto Airport Road and passes <br />through the intersection of Redwood Shores Parkway and Airport Way/Shoreway Rd. <br />Continuing north on Shoreway the route extends through San Carlos into the Belmont <br />portion of Shoreway. The proiect is apnroximately 1.6 miles of new bike route. It will <br />include the addition of new bike route signs and sharrows on Skyway Road over its full <br />length. New bike lanes will be installed along Air.port Way.. which will improve safety <br />for cyclists at the intersection of Redwood Shores Parkway and Ah:port Way/Shoreway <br />'Rd. The northern side of the intersection.. Shoreway Road. will have bike lane <br />improvements for the southbound direction. A bike path will be installed on the shoulder <br />of the road for cyclists making a right turn onto westbound Redwood Shores Parkway. <br />
