Please explain:

For the safety of riders these improvements should be done in a single phase. If done
separately novice riders may get a false sense of security on the roadways along this route
that have not received bicycle improvements.

Earliest year in which the project can obtain E-76 approval from Caltrans?

Circle one: ~Y 2010/20111

FY 2011/2012

Projects sponsor's preference as to which year the project sponsor would obtain E-76
approval from Caltrans?

Circle one: ~Y 2010/20111

FY 2011/2012

SAFETY

How is safety improved because of the project? Explain:

This will provide both commute and recreational cyclists greater access to the Regional
Bikeway Network and a safer riding experience than the current situation in this area.
Currently cyclists are forced to travel along Skyway Road to Redwood Shores Parkway
sharing travel lanes with motorists.. with no signage alerting drivers of their presence.
Also riders traveling on Shoreway Road must share the travel lanes with heavy truck
traffic from the waste transfer station that is located on Shoreway Road. The proiect will
add new bike lanes to separate the cyclists from the truck traffic and provide a path for
riders to bypass the intersection when turning westbound onto Redwood Shores Parkway.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT

a.
