<br />" <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />shall not be credited with additional sick leave, except <br /> <br />as accumulated on a monthly basis. Unused sick leave with <br /> <br />pay may be accumulated to a maximum of l20 working days <br /> <br />(960 hours). In the event that an employee who has <br /> <br />accumulated said maximum of l20 days (960 hours) sick <br /> <br />leave, and because of the aforesaid maximum limitation has <br /> <br />not accumulated sick leave for a period of six months or <br /> <br />more, becomes so severely ill that he exhausts his sick <br /> <br />leave, the Personnel Officer may, with the consent of the <br /> <br />Personnel Board, authorize additional sick leave to include <br /> <br />any such leave in excess of the maximum 120 days (960 hours) <br /> <br />which may have been lost to the employee due to the afore- <br /> <br />said maximum limitation. <br /> <br />" (c) Compensation in lieu of sick leave shall be paid <br /> <br />on an annual basis for any year designated pursuant to <br /> <br />subsection (d) hereof, commencing with January 1 of such <br /> <br />year (hereinafter called the 'commencement date') for sick <br /> <br />leave which has been credited to employees pursuant to <br /> <br />subsection (b) hereof on and after the commencement date <br /> <br />at the rate and in the manner hereinafter provided. <br /> <br />"(l) Every employee for whom sick leave has been <br />credited after the commencement date shall be <br />paid an amount equal to 25 per cent of the value <br />(based upon said employee's salary for the year <br />for which such payment is calculated) of his <br />unused sick leave accumulated during the year <br />for which such payment is calculated, to and <br />including December 3l of such year. Unused sick <br />leave accumulated prior to the commencement date <br />shall not be valued for purposes of calculating <br />payments hereunder, and only that unused sick <br />leave which has been credited during the year <br />for which such calculation is made shall be <br />valued for such purposes. Except as provided in <br />subparagraph (2) hereof, the unused sick leave <br />of employees for whom compensation in lieu of <br />sick leave is payable hereunder shall be reduced <br />by that amount of sick leave valued for purposes <br />of making payments hereunder, and the remaining <br /> <br />-6- <br />
