Task 2 - Survevimz and Utilities Research

RMC will perform surveying and utility research for the project suitable for the final design of the
project. This work will be performed under the following subtasks.

Subtask 2.1: Survey and Mapping
RMC's surveying subconsultant will perform a survey of the project pipeline corridor to ascertain the site
topography, location of structures and improvements, identification of trees, approximate property
lines, surface utility features, approximate Caltrans right-of-way limits, ground elevations} utility tunnel
location/invert, manhole inverts, catch basin inverts, and utility vault locations.

I
I

i

Design level mapping will be generated from the survey based on NAD83 horizontal datum and NAVD88
vertical datum. Ground elevations will be identified through i-foot vertical contours and/or spot
elevations at up to a 50-foot grid. Topographic information will be compiled from an aerial
photogrammetric model and presented in AutoCAD 2007 or later version. Mapping scales shall be lJ' =
40' and oriented to match the Citys existing drawings for the 48'1 sewer.

Deliverables:
· AutoCAD 2007 or later flies with mapping.

Subtask 2.2: Utility Research
RMC will perform utility research to investigate City and other existing utilities in the project pipeline
corridor. RMC will contact other utility owners for existing utilities found on the Citys record drawings
for the existing 4811 sewer, and other owners identified by a reconnaissance of the pipeline corridor.
RMC will catalog the available information and depict the Information on the mapping flies. RMC will
prepare letters notifying utility owners of the proposed project and requesting utility information. At
the conclusion of the utility research process} RMC will prepare utility owner letters requesting
confirmation of utility locations based on RMC's compiled mapping.

!

Deliverables:
· Log of utility information collected
· Utility owner letters requesting Information and confirmation of utility locations

Task 3 - Preliminary Deshm

RMC will prepare preliminary design documentation for the project under the following subtasks,

Subtask 3.1: Alignment Alternatives Evaluation
RMC will develop up to two alternatives for locating the replacement Walnut Street 4811 sewer between
existing manholes 3166E14SSND and 3252E14SSND. The alignments will be developed based on the
constraints identified on the mapping, through a field reconnaissance visit to the site and consideration
of the following:
· Required jacking and receiving shafts for trenchless crossing of Highway 101
· Staging areas for construction activities
· Available easements and right-of-way
· Available potential temporary easements for construction
