<br />7,8 <br />Page 168 <br /> <br />As indicated on the site plan, the 2,83 acre piece of land adjacent to Bair Island Road <br />and U,S. Highway 101 is the site of a future hotel and retail use, In accordance with the <br />Peninsula Park Precise Plan, the hotel would provide up to 200 rooms and 10,000 <br />square feet of community serving retail. <br /> <br />l:0 <br /> <br />Vehicular access to the site is provided via one of four entry points. When approaching <br />the site via Whipple Avenue and East Bayshore the first entrance is located on Bair <br />Island Road between the future hotel site and the residential units. This access point is <br />intended to be the primary point of entry for the hotel patrons and employees as well as <br />those residents that live on the west side of the project. The second access point, and <br />the primary residential access point for the project, is located mid-block on Bair Island <br />Road. This street represents the longest internal road on the project site and will provide <br />access to the greatest number of residential units. Located between the marina basin <br />and Bair Island Road are two townhome buildings that have direct access to Bair Island <br />Road. The forth access point is located along the northern perimeter of the site and <br />provides vehicular access for the residents in those townhome buifdings or visiting Pet <br />Park. <br /> <br />Pedestrian access to the site is provided via the sidewalk along Bair Island Road or via <br />the outer Esplanade along Redwood Creek. The project is also well equipped with a <br />number of internal pedestrian walkways, sidewalks or paseos. <br /> <br />The following table provides a land use summary of the project components (the <br />numbers represented in the following table are consistent with those identified on the <br />Tentative Maps and are the most accurate numbers available.
