&- 20 -31 <br />AB 434 - TRANSPORATION FUND FOR CLEAN AIR <br />(TFCA) <br />PURPOSE: <br />The Bay Area Air Quality Management District's Transportation Fund for Clean Air <br />program utilizes DMV fees to fund projects with the primary objective being to reduce <br />emissions into the air. C /CAG as the Program Manager for San Mateo County <br />administers the program. San Mateo County has the dual goal to both reduce air <br />emissions and improve congestion. <br />BENEFITS: <br />• Elimination of hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides from the air 62.82 Tons <br />C /CAG BOARD ROLE: <br />• Establish annual program priorities for the use of the regional funds. <br />• Contract for services with local agencies and monitor the outcomes of these <br />projects. <br />• Allocate funds and provide fiscal oversite. <br />
