8.A -14
Within the limitations of funding for public service activities, Redwood City will make funding
available for various supportive services for Redwood City residents. Programs will include
emergency shelter and transitional housing for homeless families, adult individuals, youth and
persons with mental disabilities.
Program objectives under this priority will be funded in part from CDBG within the 15% limitation
and primarily from Human Services Financial Assistance funds, an allocation from the City's
local General Fund.
The City does not apply directly to the County for funding from the Health and Human Services
budget. Instead, the City funds many of the same organizations to leverage various sources of
public and private funds.
PERFORMANCE OF 5 YEAR CONSOLIDATED PLAN GOALS
PRIORITY #2
current Year
cumulative
5 year
Supportive Services
Performance
Performance
Goal
Programs
7 -1 -2001 to
7 -1 -2000 to
6-30- 2002
6-30 -2002
Assist in the capital
1 public facilities
1 public facilities
SFae
outlay for new public
facilities
Assist in the
0
2
5titie
improvement of public
facilities
Provide supportive
services to homeless,
1,078 households
16,699
ySpye
through CDBG and
households
7,5p0,bys
non - homeless and at-
6,294 through
$
risk households who
HSFA
TOTAL 7,372 Househr
during
2001 -2002
Achieved to
Date
PRIORITY # 3: Expand Economic Development Opportunities for low and moderate.
income persons through job creation, small business creation and
expansion and opportunities created by activities selected for
funding
Economic Development, job creation, and job training are major investments in the health and
well being of a jurisdiction's overall goal to improve the quality of life for its residents.
