T1 c -3 <br />4- SM- 101 -KP 15.1/15.8 (PM 9.37/9.84) <br />Route 101 at Ralston Avenue <br />Marine Parkway Interchange <br />4245- 256800 <br />District Agreement 4- 1964 -C <br />COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT <br />THIS AGREEMENT, ENTERED INTO EFFECTIVE ON , 2003, is <br />between the STATE OF CALIFORNIA, acting by and through its Department of Transportation, <br />referred to herein as "STATE ", and <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a body politic and a <br />municipal corporation of the State of California, <br />referred to herein as "CITY". <br />RECITALS <br />STATE and CITY, pursuant to Streets and Highways Code Sections 114 and 130 are <br />authorized to enter into a Cooperative Agreement for improvements to State highways <br />within San Mateo County. <br />STATE and CITY desire State highway improvements consisting of modifying the existing <br />Route 101 /Ralston Avenue interchange from a full cloverleaf to a partial cloverleaf and to <br />widen adjacent local city streets in the Cities of Belmont and Redwood City in San Mateo <br />County referred to herein as "PROJECT ", and desire to define herein the terms and <br />conditions under which PROJECT is to be engineered, constructed, financed, and <br />maintained. <br />3. The CITY will be responsible for the design, preliminary engineering work, construction <br />engineering, right of way acquisition, advertising, award, and administration of the <br />contract. <br />SECTION I <br />CITY AGREES: <br />To provide all necessary preliminary engineering, including plans and specifications and <br />utility identification and location, and all necessary construction engineering services for <br />PROJECT and bear CITY's share of the actual expense thereof. Estimates of such costs <br />are shown on Exhibit A, attached to and made a part of this Agreement. <br />2. To have an Environmental Document (ED) and detailed Plans, Specifications and Estimate <br />(PS &E) prepared and to submit each to STATE for review and approval at appropriate <br />stages of development. Final plans and standard special provisions shall be signed by a <br />Civil Engineer registered in the State of California. <br />3. To permit STATE to monitor and participate in the selection of personnel who will conduct <br />environmental studies and obtain the environmental compliance, prepare the PS &E, <br />perform preliminary design and construction surveying, provide the right of way <br />engineering services, and perform right of way activities.
