8.A -2z <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />ATTACH M ENT Z„ <br />A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY TO INITIATE AND CONSIDER <br />AMENDMENTS TO THE REDWOOD CITY ZONING CODE RELATED <br />TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF ARBORS AND TRELLISES, <br />RESIDENTIAL BUILDING HEIGHT, MEDICAL OFFICE AND CLINIC <br />STANDARDS, RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT USES, THEATRE <br />USES IN THE CENTRAL BUSINESS RETAIL DISTRICT AND CHILD <br />DAYCARE FACILITIES, AND HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING ON SAME. <br />WHEREAS, Article 41 of the Redwood City Zoning Code (the "Code ") sets forth <br />procedures for amendments of the Code; and <br />WHEREAS, Planning Department staff have reviewed the Code and have <br />requested that the Redwood City Planning Commission (the "Commission ") initiate <br />specific amendments of the Code (the "Amendments "); and <br />WHEREAS, the Amendments include, changes to: Articles 2, 31, 32 and 51, <br />related to the construction of arbors and trellises in set back areas; Articles 2, 4, 5 and <br />6 related to definitions and standards for measurement of residential height; Articles 2, <br />11, 12, 14 through 19, 26, 29 and 30 related to definitions, land use classifications and <br />parking standards for medical offices, medical clinics, and research and development <br />uses; Articles, 2, 14 and 26 related to definitions and allowances for theater uses in the <br />Central Business Retail (CBR) District and Article 2 related to Child Day Care Facilities, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Amendments are further set forth in the attachments Exhibits A <br />through 6, which are incorporated herein by this reference; and <br />WHEREAS, notice of the May 6, 2003, public hearing on the Amendments was <br />published on Saturday, April 19, 2003, in a newspaper of general circulation. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That the Commission, pursuant to Article 41 of the Redwood City Zoning Code, <br />intends initiate and consider the Amendments at its meeting of May 6, 2003. <br />2. That along with Commission consideration of the Amendments, a Public Hearing <br />will be held. <br />3.
