These services <br />include: emergency shelter, transitional housing, 24 -hour Hotline, crisis <br />intervention counseling, peer support and parenting groups, legal services, <br />community outreach and education, teen outreach and the Emergency Outreach <br />Program - a collaoorative intervention with the police departments in San Mateo <br />County. $20,000 was requested to support the 24 -hour emergency crisis and <br />support telephone providing assistance to victims of domestic violence as well as <br />those in danger of becoming victims of violence. <br />Ellipse Peninsula AIDS Services <br />Ellipse is committed to assisting individuals in San Mateo County who are HIV - <br />infected, their family members, loved ones and friends. Through a mix of <br />comprehensive and professional and volunteer support services, Ellipse insists <br />its clients maintain their fullest possible employment, productivity, and <br />participation in the community. $20,000 was requested to support the <br />emergency financial assistance and food programs. <br />Rape Trauma Services - Sexual Assault Services and Prevention Proqram <br />Rape Trauma Services of San Mateo County strives to eliminate all forms of <br />violence, with a special focus on sexual assault and abuse. RTS provides <br />confidential services to children and adults who have been directly or indirectly <br />hurt by the trauma of sexual abuse, assault, or harassment. In addition to direct <br />services, the organization works to prevent violence through educational <br />workshops in the schools and the community. $20,000 was requested to support <br />this program in Redwood City. <br />Salvation Army - Emergencv Assistance Proqram <br />In Redwood City, the Salvation Army has been serving the needs of the less <br />fortunate since 1960. The Emergency Assistance Program provides weekly food <br />boxes, motel vouchers, clothing and necessity vouchers and PG &E payments. <br />Salvation Army also provides programs and guidance to senior citizens, youth, <br />and young adults and families. $12,000 was requested to support the <br />Emergency Assistance Program. <br />Service Leaque of San Mateo Countv - Emergency Assistance Proqram <br />The program addresses the needs of Redwood City residents recently released <br />from San Mateo County jails, their immediate families, and the families of those <br />who are in custody who reside in Redwood City. $18,000 was requested to help <br />Service League provide the basic needs of food, clothing, transportation, and <br />temporary shelter to those who qualify. <br />Youth and Familv Assistance - Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Center <br />Youth and Family Assistance provides a comprehensive network of eleven <br />programs, which serves the needs of youth and families in high -risk situations. <br />The Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Center seeks to provide readily <br />accessible help to people in their times of greatest need.
