Upon the adoption of the resolution, the <br />district is formed for the purposes of this ordinance. <br />CHAPTER 7 <br />ELECTIONS <br />701 <br />702 <br />703 <br />704 <br />General Law. Except as in this chapter provided, any <br />election held pursuant to this ordinance shall be called, held <br />and conducted as nearly as practicable in accordance with the <br />laws applicable to elections in general law cities. <br />Officers of Election. An inspector, one judge and two <br />clerks shall constitute the officers of election for each <br />precinct. They shall be registered electors of the district, <br />and if none, then of the city. <br />Precincts. For the purposes of any election, the dis- <br />trict or improvement district may be declared to be one precinct, <br />or may be divided into separate precincts which may be by refer- <br />ence to general county election precincts or portiorg thereof. <br />Notice. Notice of election, notice of measures to be <br />voted on, and notice of election officers and polling places <br />shall be given, and sample ballots and polling place cards <br />shall be mailed as provided for general municipal elections. <br />If the territory within which the election is to be held is <br />uninhabited or is inhabited but there are no registered electors <br />therein, voting shall be by land owners, and the limitations of <br />time provided in Sections 22830, 22834 and 22835 of the Elections <br />Code shall not apply, provided that the notices provided for there- <br />in shall be published at least once not less than fourteen days <br />before the day of election. <br />17 <br />
