CHAPTER 15 <br />6ections <br />1510 Annexation. The annexation resolution shall not be <br />effective until after thirty days from its adoption, unless <br />the petition or a written consent is signed by all of the <br />voters in the lands to be annexed, and filed with the clerk, <br />in which event it shall be effective upon adoption. <br />1511 Referendum. Unless the annexation resolution is final, <br />curing the thirty days following the adoption thereof, a <br />petition may be filed with the clerk requesting that it be <br />rescinded or submitted to the voters of the area to be annexed. <br />1512 Id. - Petition. The petition shall be signed as follows: <br />(a) Inhabited. If said lands contain registered <br />electors, and the annexation petitiorr not - signed <br />by all of them, it shall be signed as provided for <br />referendum in the city. <br />(b) Uninhabited. If the lands do not contain any <br />registered electors, and the annexation petition <br />was not signed by all the owners, it shall be <br />signed by ownersof at least 51% of the assessed <br />value (as shown on the assessment roll) of the <br />lands to be annexed. <br />1513 Annexation Referendum. If the annexation resolution is <br />not rescinded at the first or second regular meeting of the <br />council next succeeding the date of receipt of the petition, <br />the council shall within thirty days after receipt of such <br />petition call a referendum election to be held within ninety <br />days after date of call for the purpose of voting on a measure <br />to rescind the annexation resolution. Such election shall <br />be held in the territory comprising the lands to be annexed <br />and in the manner provided in chapter 7. The annexation <br />resolution shall be deemed to be rescinded if said measure <br />receives the affirmative votes of a majority of the votes cast <br />at the election. <br />50 <br />
