Task Three: i -Tree Streets
Methodology and Deliverables
Once the tree inventory is completed, Davey Resource Group will begin an analysis of your
entire urban forest. Our project coordinator will work with Redwood City staff to obtain critical
information to complete the report. Once this information is obtained, DRG will create the
analysis and report for your review. We will also create slides that can be used in a marketing
capacity for use in presentations as part of this report. The follow quantification is available
through i -Tree Streets:
• Energy conservation.
• Air quality improvement.
• Carbon dioxide reduction.
• Stormwater runoff reduction.
• Property value increase.
In addition, i -Tree Streets calculates the following aspects of your tree resource:
• Structure (e.g., species composition, age distribution, canopy cover).
• Function (environmental and aesthetic benefits).
• Value (annual monetary value of benefits and costs).
• Management needs (e.g., recommended maintenance, stocking levels, tree conflicts).
When reports are generated, graphics such as the charts below are included in the report. Once
the report is complete, we deliver a bound copy and CD -ROM copies for your use.
Top 5 Tree Species for Reducing Stormwater Runoff
Pinus halepensis
Platanus racemosa
; .
Platanus hyb►ida
Cinnamomum camphora
Top 5 Tree Species for Improving Air Quality 39
Platanus racemosa i + .
esiscissermeassoomeemsamcgans
Platanus hybrids 0 r Runoff ($/Tree)
Pinus halepensis `, ;.
Fraxinus velutina "Modesto' - .
Cinnamomum camphora •:.
p0
cslo• '\O. c39/ 6,4)' 4 6h c oo'
Average Annual Air Quality Improvements ($ /Tree)
Prepared for City of Redwood City, California 14
Prepared by Davey Resource Group
