This lead the committee to be- <br /> lieve th =t the voters of Redwood City are willing to support the building provided <br /> the commit ► =e can find funds that in no way will increase the tax rate. He stated <br /> that no mone' is being spent from tax rate and the majority of the money is coming <br /> from capital sa'e and going back to capital improvements. Councilman Granger stated <br /> that the committe- set a maximum to build on and it is up to the architect and those <br /> working on the proj= t to stay within the maximum. Councilman Jones stated that the <br /> overall cost of 470,00$.00 is nowhere near the amount of money asked for in the bond <br /> issue as the building wi l be a smaller unit. Mayor Herkner advised that the cost <br /> will be from 40% to 50% le-- than 20 year bonds, and the building will be paid for <br /> when completed and completel debt free, and there will be no increase in the present <br /> tax rate. <br /> Councilman Stout moved that the 1 =tter be accepted and the City Manager be instructed <br /> to take necessary steps to employ a architect for the work to be done on the project, <br /> seconded by Councilman Jones and carri =d. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY REPORT ON RESUBDIVISION OF LOTS City Attorney Currie reported that an <br /> examination of the subdivision ordinance s_ems to indicate that it would be possible <br /> to provide a procedure whereby when lots of usual topographical conditions or other <br /> special conditions are to be subdivided notice ould be given. The Subdivision <br /> Ordinance provides that all lots should have 50 f . frontage, not less than 90 ft. <br /> depth and not less than 6000 sq. ft. area. City Attorney recommended that the matter <br /> be referred to the Planning Commission with recommend :tion that they prepare an ord- <br /> inance in compliance with the suggestions of the Council and refer it back to the <br /> Council for adoption. The Planning Commission is recommen•ing other changes in the <br /> ordinance. Councilman Spillers so moved, seconded by Counci an Stout and carried. <br /> After discussion regarding the recommendation to be sent to the Planning Commission, <br /> Councilman Spillers amended the motion to the effect that the Cit Attorney be directed <br /> to prepare the changes that the Council has approved and refer same to the Planning <br /> Commission. Motion carried. <br /> Councilman Royer entered the meeting at 8:39 P.M. <br /> REAL ESTATE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION REGARDING PROPOSED PURCHASE SEIFERS PROPER'Y ADJOINING <br /> COMMUNITY PARK. Councilman Royer stated that the committee appraised the pr•.erty <br /> 1 <br /> and they feel that the property is worth $1,900.00, but it is up to the City C. ncil <br /> to decide if they wish to purchase the property. / <br />
