Councilman Granger moved that the City Attorney be in- <br /> structed to bring in report as to the legal steps whereby one piece of land may be set <br /> aside for the particular purpose under consideration, seconded by Councilman Spillers <br /> who requested that the City Attorney investigate to see if the City actually ownes the <br /> park or any part of it. City Attorney advised that there is no insurable title vested <br /> in the City of Redwood City at the present time, but by quiet title action, the City <br /> could obtain insurable title. Councilman Royer stated that unless the City decides to <br /> build on the property or to sell it, there would be no sense to quiet title. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> Councilman Royer requested the the City Engineer get some information for the next Council <br /> Meeting regarding Upland Road petition covering the area at the rear of Sequoia Hospital. <br /> City Attorney Currie requested authorization to the Clerk to accept the deeds from Mr. <br /> Duke and Mr. Emerick for the property necessary to extend Breeze Place. He advised <br /> the Council that for an additional 6100.00 the City can obtain 10 feet more for the <br /> widening of Canyon Road. So moved by Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman <br /> Royer and carried. <br /> City Attorney Currie stated that in checking the minutes of meeting September, 1954, the <br /> Council adopted P -1 and P -2 zones. It was the intention of the Council at that time <br /> to eliminte prescription pharmacists from this zoning. This has never been done, and <br /> City Attorney has prepared the necessary resolution prior to the introduction of an <br /> ordinance. Councilman Britschgi offered RESOLUTION OF INTENTION 1876 ELIMINATING <br /> PRESCRIPTION PHARMACISTS AND BANKS FROM THE P -1 AND P -2 ZONES, seconded by Councilman <br /> Stout and carried on roll call. <br /> City Attorney requested authority to advertise for bids for g as tax job on Alameda de las <br /> Pulgas from Goodwin to Massachusetts. So moved by Councilman Britschgi, seconded by <br /> Councilman Stout and carried. <br /> City Clerk ins a matter of interest, read the minutes of the first Board Meeting of the City <br /> of Redwood City, on May 20, 1867, eighty -eight years ago. <br /> Mayor Herkner complimented the Engineer's Department and the Street Department for putting <br /> in shape the parking areas around the Yacht Harbor, for the crew race held last <br /> Saturday. There will be more of these races from time to time, and it is a benefit <br /> to the City for the area to be in good shape. <br /> Mr. Tessendorf appeared stating that he has plans for apartments that he wished to build on <br /> Claremont Avenue, but he now finds that he needs an extra 5' in the rear of his pro- <br /> perty. The ordinance established a 15 foot set back in this area. <br /> City Attorney advised that Mr. Tessendorf will have to get a variance from the Plan- <br /> ning Commission. <br /> Councilman Spillers moved adjournment at 10:00 P.M. to May 31st, 1955, seconded by Council- <br /> man Jones and carried. / ' <br /> R.
