338 <br /> Boundary Commission and when the petition is received with $150.00 payable to the City <br /> of Redwood City a Resolution of Intention to annex the property in question will be <br /> presented to the Council. <br /> Mr. Art Miller appeared stating that they are waiting for the appraisal to find out <br /> the cost of the city sewage line and what it would cost the people to come into the <br /> City, and they want to know what they are going to do with the hillside in back of <br /> the. area (the reservoir site). City Attorney advised that the appraisal for the <br /> property in back of the hospital for the proposed reservoir site should be complete <br /> within the next two weeks. City Attorney stated that the annexation should not be <br /> conditioned upon any cost figures, and that the City should not commit themselves <br /> Y g � y o it themsely s <br /> as to possible cost of sewers. The City Engineer has worked up certain information <br /> based on approximate estimates which is available to petitioners. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY AND CITY ENGINEER REGARDING R4QUEST FOR REMOVAL OF RESTRICTION ON PROPERTIES <br /> ON BROADWAY AND MARSHALL STREETS. City Attorney advised that in discussion with the <br /> City Engineer the only items not completed in the recent assessment district was the <br /> construction of sidewalks to full width and the installation of electroliers. He <br /> stated that the Ordinance provides that the sidewalks should be constructed to full <br /> width whenever property is developed. He also advised the Council that the City is <br /> adequately covered and recommended that the Council go on record stating that it be <br /> understood that additional sidewalks will be constructed as the property is developed, <br /> the agreement cancelled and the City Clerk be authorized to file certified copy of the <br /> cancellation. City Attorney stated further that additional electroliers could be in- <br /> cluded in an assessment district over the entire area. After much discussion re- <br /> garding the advisability of removing the restrictions the Council agreed to take up <br /> this matter at a study meeting. City Engineer will bring in his recommendation. <br /> CITY MANAGER REPORT ON PROPOSED POLICE BUILDING. Report from City Manager Rolison advised <br /> qualified architects have been invited to submit written proposals for the preparation <br /> of plans and specifications. Time for receiving said proposals has been set for <br /> June 10th at 2:00 P.M. Councilman Jones moved that the letter be referred to the <br /> committee who will meet on June 10th, seconded by Councilman Royer who requested that <br /> this be carried on the agenda to June 13th. Councilman Granger informed that in <br /> voting on this motion he is not making a decision as to who will get the architectural <br /> job. Motion carried. <br /> COUNCILMAN GRANGER REPORT ON PROPOSED CHANGES STREET LIGHTS VICINITY WHIPPLE, STAFFORD, ETC. <br /> Councilman Granger stated that although the recommendation of the City Manager was <br /> good, he would like to have a little more time, and requested that this matter be <br /> held over to the council meeting of June 6th. Councilman Jones so moved, seconded by <br /> Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY REPORT ON MEETING WITH F. DE PATTA REGARDING PROPOSED ANNEXATION LOT 2, BLOCK <br /> 17, OAK KNOLL MANOR (ALAMEDA). City Attorney's report advised the Council that while <br /> the proposed annexation is not a technical violation, it would violate the spirit of <br /> the annexation law prohibiting creation of unincorporated islands, stating that an <br /> informal petition covering the area bounded by Harding Avenue, Alameda de las Pulgas, <br /> Upton Street, and Jefferson Avenue has been given to Mr. Kelly to circulate and that <br /> if all the area were joined with all the area between Harding Avenue and Brewster <br />
