3` <br /> Councilman Granger suggested that something be done to repair the public address system <br /> on the Council panel, and the City Manager assured him that this would be done. <br /> Councilman Granger requested report on the Butts property, and City Attorney advised <br /> that he would look into this as soon as possible. Councilman Granger moved that this <br /> be carried on the agenda for one week, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br /> Councilman Granger advised the Council that the State will not be able to furnish trans- <br /> portation for the Council to attend Governor's Day at Camp Roberts. <br /> Councilman Royer requested that Mr. Spines be advised of Study Meeting which will be held <br /> on June 15th, at which time Hawes Park Switch proposal will be discussed and decided <br /> upon. <br /> Councilman Stout initiated discussion regarding the burning at the City Dump and presented <br /> to the Council pictures that were taken on the night of June 7th when the dump was <br /> burning. He stated that the Health Department used to notify the various dumps as <br /> to when the burning could be done, however this practice has been discontinued. Coun- <br /> cilman Stout expects, within two weeks, to have some constructive recommendation for <br /> the Council. Councilman Granger moved that the report be made a part of the minutes, <br /> and the City Manager be prepared to take necessary steps on recommendation of Council- <br /> man Stout in two weeks, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br /> City Clerk presented claim from Blomquist Oil Service, Inc., in which they state that they <br /> have been billed by the United Towing Company in the amount of 00.64 to cover delayed <br /> time in departing from dock due to recent difficulty in clearing the Redwood Creek <br /> Channel of small craft in order that they might receive a barge shipment at the dock. <br /> The letter stated that inasmuch as it is the responsibility of the City to keep small <br /> craft from mooring in the Channel and the barging company is entitled to payment for <br /> demurrage, this claim is being presented to the City. City Attorney advised that the <br /> liability was on the part of the persons who were in the channel, recommending that the <br /> claim be denied. Councilman Royer moved that this be referred to the City Attorney t o <br /> Y <br /> Y Y <br /> reply to the letter of Blomquist Oil Service Company to the effect that their claim <br /> is being denied, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br /> City Clerk presented letter from Judy Ulstad and Vickie Nutter requesting a branch library <br /> in the district around Goodwin School. The letter stated that a library there is <br /> needed. Councilman Stout moved that the letter be acknowledged and that these girls <br /> be advised that the Library Board is considering a branch in that district. Council- <br /> man Granger seconded the motion requesting that this be referred to the Library Board. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Councilman Spillers moved adjournment at 10:40 P.M., seconded b' Coin ilman Royer and carried. <br /> R. .OD E <br /> City Cle <br />
