358 <br /> CLAIM ALLEGED INJURY MRS. P. MERRITT, FALL ON SIDEWALK. This claim in the amount of <br /> $5,000.00 was denied on motion of Councilman Spillers and referred to the insur- <br /> ance carrier, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. <br /> CLAIM ALLEGED INJURY MARY STOLLER, FALL ON SIDEWALK. This claim in the amount of <br /> $5,000.00 was denied on motion of Councilman Spillers and referred to the insur- <br /> ance carrier, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br /> DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS REQUEST CANCELLATION OF TAXES ON FREEWAY PROPERTY. Councilman <br /> Granger moved that this request be granted, seconded by Councilman Britschgi <br /> and carried. <br /> UHLENBERG COMPANY PROPOSAL CONTINUOUS AUDIT FISCAL YEAR 1955 -56. Letter from this Com- <br /> pany stating that they will continue the audit for this coming year, fee to be the <br /> same as in prior years, namely $1,800.00 maximum. Councilman Granger moved that the <br /> auditor's bid be accepted on the same basis as set forth in their letter, seconded <br /> by Councilman Royer and carried. <br /> PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION REQUEST NO FURTHER EXTENSION PROSPECTING IN STULSAFT PARK. <br /> There was discussion regarding the matter of the prospecting, and it was decided <br /> that'the communication was intended to make Council aware of the Commission's <br /> thoughts in the matter. Letter filed. <br /> MR. L. WEISS COMMUNICATION REGARDING TRIBUNE ARTICLES. Letter from Mr. Louis Weiss in <br /> which he enclosed the unedited copy of letter addressed to the Redwood City Tribune <br /> requesting that the Council be made cognizant of the full text and thus avoid any <br /> possible misunderstanding. Councilman Britschgi moved that the letter be made a <br /> part of the Minutes, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br /> MRS. R. L. SPANGLER LETTER REGARDING "HILLSIDE POLICY FOR NEW SUBDIVISIONS ". This let- <br /> ter was addressed to the Planning Commission with copy to the Council. Councilman <br /> Britschgi moved that this be referred to the City Manager, seconded by Councilman <br /> Granger and carried. <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATIONS: <br /> APPROVAL ADOPT OFFICIAL PLAN LINES INTERIOR STREET THROUGH BLOCK BOUNDED BY PAGE, BAY <br /> ROAD, TENTH AVENUE AND HAVEN STREET. Councilman Granger moved that public hearing <br /> be set for July 5th, 1955, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br /> APPROVAL APPLICATION HAROLD DAVIES TO MOVE BUILDING TO REAR OF LOT AND MOVE A BUILDING <br /> FROM 527 WINSLOW STREET TO SAME LOT, 1312 JEFFERSON, SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS. Condi- <br /> tions were that the owner will pay sewer lateral and the owner to set house at <br /> least 20 feet from Jefferson. Building Inspector stated that the building must com- <br /> ply with the building code and fire code. Councilman Britschgi moved that this be <br /> approved subject to conditions as set forth the letter and also approval of <br /> Building and Fire Departments, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried, on roll <br /> call, Councilman Spillers voting No. <br /> APPROVAL APPLICATION GEORGE PRAY FOR VARIANCE TO ALLOW 3 FEET BETWEEN MAIN BUILDING AND <br /> 1 <br /> ACCESSORY BUILDING AT FAIRVIEW, SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS. Councilman Spillers offered <br /> RESOLUTION 1889 APPROVING THE VARIANCE, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried on <br /> roll call. <br />
