Councilman Spillers moved introduction <br /> I to the amendment to the awning ordinance, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br /> INTRODUCE ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING FIRE ZONE NO. 2 FOR AREA AT CHARTER AND MIDDLEFIELD ROAD. This <br /> fire zone No. 2 is suggested for the area at Charter and Middlefield Road which was rezoned <br /> under Ordinance No. 600.49. Councilman Granger moved introduction of ordinance, seconded <br /> by Councilman Jones and carried. <br /> RESOLUTION 1820 TRANSFERRING $1,287.00 FROM UNALLOCATED CAPITAL BUDGET FUNDS TO FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> CAPITAL OUTLAY (Roof of Firehouse #1). Councilman Jones offered RESOLUTION 1820 and moved <br /> adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call, Councilmen Britschgi <br /> and Stout noted absent. <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS: CITY COUNCIL AND DEPARTMENT HEADS. <br /> COUNCILMAN GRANGER NOTED THAT THE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES REFERRED TO A POSSIBLE <br /> QUIET TITLE ACTION in order that a good title could be securred for the park area surround- <br /> ed by Main, Elm and the railroad track. It developed that the original map indicated that <br /> Chew Street cuts through the middle of this area. An organization known as the Widows, <br /> Inc. is anxious to secure a site for a building in which to house activities similar to <br /> the Little House. Councilman Granger stated his opinion that this matter should have come <br /> before the City Council and his purpose was to inquire as to this activity in order that <br /> he may know what is going on. After further discussion, Councilman Royer moved that the <br /> City Manager check into the matter and report back at the January 24th meeting, seconded <br /> by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br /> COUNCILMAN GRANGER NOTED FROM PARK AND RECREATION MINUTES HAT. A COMMUNICATION HAD BEEN DIRECTED <br /> TO THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE IN CONNECTION WITH UNION CEMETERY. The Council Committee, of <br /> which Councilman Granger is chairman, has been in touch with the Governor's office and is <br /> at present carrying out the wishes of the Council in contacting the present owners of plots <br /> in an effort to get their feelings in connection with the possible closing out of the <br /> cemetery. <br /> COUNCILMAN JONES REQUESTED SORE CONSIDERATION BE GIVEN TO THE USE OF THE PRESENT VETERAN'S BUILD <br /> ING FOR SUCH ORGANIZATIONS AS BOY SCOUTS AND GIRL SCOUTS AFTER THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE <br /> WAR MEMORIAL BUILDING. Councilman Granger called attention to the fact that the building <br /> had originally been located on a temporary basis only and it was a question whether the , <br /> .building could be used for Youth Organizations. The Building Inspector and Fire Chief <br /> were requested to check over the building at their convenience and report back to the <br /> Council. <br /> RESOLUTION 1821 DECLARING CERTAIN STREETS TO BE MAJOR CITY STREETS.
