The City Clerk read a petition, signed by <br /> 26 property owners on Roble Avenue, protesting the proposed Glenfair Subdivision at <br /> the south end of their street. <br /> City Engineer Jain reported this 8 -lot subdivision is at the end of a 1000 -foot <br /> deadend street south of Carlos Avenue. The only adequate water supply is at Carlos <br /> Avenue, and the entire street is now served by only a 2 -inch and 12 -inch water line, <br /> without fire protection. <br /> The City Manager, the Water Superintendent, and the City Engineer previously ad- <br /> vised the subdivider that if he would pay 1 /1j the cost of a 6 -inch water main ex- <br /> tending from Carlos Avenue, they would recommend that the City pay the remaining <br /> 3/4 of the cost, based upon the approximate proportions used by existing and proposed <br /> developments. It is estimated that the proposed contribution by the City to this <br /> Roble Avenue main would be approximately $5,000.00. <br /> The problem of drainage was again discussed at some length. When questioned about <br /> notifying the contractor, City Engineer Jain stated that he has had a least fif- <br /> teen meetings with the contractor and that there wasn't another thing the City <br /> could do until the Contractor and his engineer settled the drainage problem. <br /> Councilman Spillers moved that the matter be held over for one week and that a <br /> study meeting be held with the contractor, a member of the Council, City Manager <br />
