Councilman
Royer moved that a public hearing be set for two weeks, August 15th, seconded by
Councilman Spillers and carried.
PERSONAL APPEARANCES. Mrs. Vera Eskin, taxpayer's protest. Mrs. Eskin read a lengthy
protest in regard to Gilbert's Upholstery Shop doing business in their home at
130 Cerrito Avenue without benefit of a business licenses. The Planning Commis-
sion had informed her that this was a non - conforming use and a home business,
and that there was no license required. Mrs. Eskin demanded that the City conduct
an unbiased investigation since the office of Currie and Lebsack had been the
attorneys for Mr. Gilbert at one time. It developed that Gilbert's business
started before his property was annexed to the City.
After further discussion, Councilman Britschgi moved that Mrs. Eskin's letters
be turned over to the City Manager, he in turn to report his findings and recommen-
dations in one week, seconded by Councilman Granger who asked that the City Manager
also include in his report if there was a need of an outside attorney to be hired.
Mrs. Eskin wanted to know when this non - conforming rule was rendered and upon
what basis it was rendered. Motion carried.
PERSONAL APPEARANCES. Paul Tessendorff, Claremont Avenue. Councilman Granger brought
up the matter of the traffic on Claremont Avenue. He suggested that in order to
stop the trucks from parking all day in the street that 2 -hour parking zone be
established. Councilman Granger moved that this matter be turned over to the
Traffic Fact Firriing Committee for their consideration. Captain Faulstich stated
that as a member of the Committee he would like to discuss this matter with the
people in the area before taking any action. Councilman Spillers seconded the
motion, post cards to be sent to the people living on Claremont Avenue. Motion
carried.
PERSONAL APPEARANCES. L. M. Reed, 1903 Bayshore Highway, Redwood City Trailer Court.
Mr. Reed stated that he had appeared a year ago to enlarge his trailer court by
twelve stalls. He stated that at that time he had been given permission, but
since that time he had been unable to go ahead with his plans. Councilman Granger
was of the opinion that this should be cleared by the Health Department before any
action could be taken. Councilman Royer moved that Mr. Reed be given permission
to enlarge his trailer court, if and when he gets permission from the Health Depart-
ment, and if he meets the requirements of the State, County, and City, seconded by
Councilman Spillers and carried.
Use Permits granted by Planning Commission, appeal decision of the PG &E sub - station.
Mrs. Alice Rankin turned in her appeal to the Planning Commission's decision.
Councilman Gr=nger moved that the public hearing be set for two weeks, August 15th,
seconded by Councilman Spillers, the property owners in the area to be notified.
Motion carried.
REPORT OF SPECIAL CENSUS.
